Ambos Lados Opening in Silver City, New Mexico

Ambos Lados had a great opening in Silver City, New Mexico, on Friday, October 11th, 2019.  This opening started the 4th Annual Southwest Print Fiesta.  It was at the Light Art Space, which also housed two other print exhibitions at the opening -- "Obsessions: Juried Exhibition of Hand Pulled Prints," and "Pull: 5 Female Printamakers" from Arizona.

Silver City, New Mexico -- hanging the exhibition

On October 1st, 2019, we hung the Ambos Lados International Print Exchange in Silver City at the Light Art Space.  The opening is from 5 - 8 PM, on Friday, October 11th, during the Southwest Print Fiesta.  The exhibition runs October 1 - 28, 2019.

We are exhibiting the Ambos Lados International Print Exchange during the Southwest Print Fiesta 2019 this year -- October 11 - 13, 2019.

Last year we exhibited the previous print exchange -- the Horned Toad II Print Exchange -- at the Southwest Print Fiesta 2018.

This year's exhibition will be at the LIGHT ART SPACE, owned and managed by Karen Hymer, who also participated in the Ambos Lados print exchange.

3 PRINT EXHIBITIONS
At the Light Art Space

There will actually be three simultaneous print exhibitions at the Light Art Space during the Southwest Print Fiesta.

  1. OBSESSION is an exhibition of hand-pulled prints responding to the idea of a compulsive preoccupation with an object, idea, person, place, memory, phobia, pattern, thought, image, shape, word, and more. This exhibition will highlight the many visual guises that infatuation can take and challenge the viewer's relationship to their own habitual fixations and proclivities. -See Below for Submission Guidelines -
    Exhibition on view October 11- November 10, 2019 Reception Friday, October 11th 5 – 8pm

  2. 5 FEMALE PRINTMAKERS: This exhibition features the work of 5 female printmakers from Tucson, Arizona. Jo Anderson, Penny Batelli, Norma Galindo, Maria Lee, and Glory Tacheenie-Campoy present a variety of techniques including mono-prints, etching, linocuts, letterpress and solar plate printing in two and three-dimensional forms.
    Exhibit dates: October 11th – November 10th Reception Friday, October 11th 5 – 8pm

  3. AMBROS LADOS INTERNATIONAL PRINT EXCHANGE: "Ambos Lados" means both sides. This print exchange was organized from both sides of the border -- by Manuel Guerra of Horned Toad Prints in El Paso, and by Adrian Aguirre and Beatriz Rivas of Taller Grafica Libre in Zaachila, Oaxaca. The 158 prints are fairly evenly split between the two countries -- with 72 from Mexico, 80 from the United States, and 6 from other countries, Australia, Canada, Cuba and Ireland.
    Exhibit dates: October 11th – November 10th Reception Friday, October 11th 5 – 8pm
