The closing for Ambos Lados was on Black Friday, November 26, 2021 -- at Casa Ortiz in Socorro, Texas, just outside of El Paso.

  1. The stop was particularly meaningful because Casa Ortiz itself is part of the historical landscape of the El Paso–Socorro area. The building's setting provided a connection between the region's history and the contemporary art of printmaking, reinforcing the idea of Ambos Lados as a project about place, identity, cultural exchange, and the connections between communities on both sides of the border. Exploring Mexico by road is a great way to discover new places, especially when you can easily search for bus from Mexico City to San Miguel de Allende before starting your journey.
